I absolutely have faith in your ability to
collect or enforce your own judgment. My own experience has taught
me that you don’t have to be a collection attorney or be employed
as a debt collector to get your judgment money. There are advantages
to collecting your judgment for yourself. The main thing is that
you get to keep 100% of all the money you collect. You don’t
have to share any of it with a professional judgment enforcement
specialist. Professional judgment enforcers normally keep about
half of every dollar that is collected. That may be okay for some
people, but not for me. I prefer to keep all of it. After all, the
judge awarded all of it to me, why would I want to accept anything
less.
It is true that the judicial system can be intimidating.
There are so many laws, rules, and legal stuff to try to figure
out. Don’t worry about it. If you really want to go after
your debtor and make him pay, you can do it. You can succeed if
you set your mind to it. You don’t have to be part of the
80% or more of lawsuit winners who never get paid. You can be part
of the 20% you get what you deserve. You can be one of the smart
ones who discover what steps are available to force your legal adversary
to pay up.
It is true, that if you go off half cocked and without
any idea about what you are doing, you could strike out in this
enforcement game. But with a little intelligent preparation and
execution, you could hit a home run instead.
Let me encourage you to read and investigate the
steps you need to follow. Educate yourself enough to where you can
follow a winning game plan. You can see what we have done to successfully
enforce our judgments. If we have gotten our debtors to pay, you
can make yours pay. The old saying is, “Nothing ventured,
nothing gained.” What have you got to lose by trying. If some
deadbeat debtor has managed to avoid paying you so far, the future
results can’t be any worse than the past results. But, if
things work out, you just might gain the thrill and satisfaction
of collecting your money. Whether you absolutely need the money,
or not, you deserve to get it. The court already said so.
I suggest that you might want to make your judgment
collection into a kind of game that you play in your mind. It can
make the entire enforcement experience fun and enjoyable. Well,
this works for me. Good luck and happy hunting
